It’s been back to the grindstone this week, and the glorious freedom of half-term already feels like a distant, rose-tinted dream. Sue managed three full days in school before collapsing (figuratively, not literally) into the weekend. Jamie, still on college half-term, spent the entire week at the Joinery, presumably building something marvellous, or at least not sawing off any fingers.
Sarah seems quite content with life, though, like most her age, she spends an alarming amount of time glued to a screen after school. If she’s not hypnotised by the computer, she’s watching DVDs lovingly compiled by Charlotte. She’s honing her skills as a fully qualified, slightly dull teenager.
As for me, I heroically picked up a head cold on Wednesday and, displaying true British grit (and possibly poor judgement), dragged myself into work on Thursday and Friday. I expect a small medal any day now.
In other shocking news, England somehow managed to beat France at rugby in the Six Nations on Saturday night. No one knows quite how it happened, but we’re not asking questions.
